Refurbishment Follow-Up Letter - 2023

Dear Owner,  

 

We have progressed so quickly into 2023 and therefore take this opportunity to further update you regarding the refurbishments of Dolphin View Villas (formerly Perna Perna 4), leading to a revitalized property befitting the status of a KwaZulu Natal North Coast holiday resort.

 

Refurbishment Update:

 

We deeply regret to inform you that whilst we originally anticipated the re-opening date to be the 1st December 2023, this has unfortunately been delayed, as during the process of refurbishment we received notification from the building inspector that certain historic additions to the property require further plans and ultimately municipal approval. 

After reviewing the plans, it is clear that the necessary municipal approvals were not done by the previous management company.

 

For clarity’s sake, some of the major issues to be addressed, either via the plan’s submission, or in the project include:

  1. A structure had been built over the building line, now to be included in the plan resubmission.
  2. A skylight had been added, requiring such “new” roofing structure to be included on the plans.
  3. The windows were never glazed, now requiring such to be replaced.


What are the resort closure dates?

 

We are attempting to expedite the process as quickly as possible, but ultimately as we do rely on the municipal office, it will unfortunately be impossible to complete the project by the anticipated date. Considering builders’ holidays and other anticipated delays, first occupation will be 29 March 2024. We will of course keep you updated if this changes.
 

What Happens If I Own Timeshare during the Resort Closure period?

During the initial closure period, all affected weeks with paid-up levies, will be automatically banked with iExchange. This banking will enable you to do an exchange either back into your home resort at another time, or into another resort within the 4000+ iExchange portfolio of resorts, either locally or internationally.

All owners affected by this closure will also receive an exchange fee credit in their iExchange account, equivalent to the Full Week exchange fee. This, along with the above week credit, means that you will not have to pay any additional fees for this interruption, ensuring you won't miss out on your annual timeshare holiday. 

There is no need for you to contact us to get your week banked, as we will do this for you automatically. You will receive a confirmation of the banking from the iExchange team once your week has been banked.
